I've always been fascinated with the desi music scene. I'm not as familiar with the current scene, but growing my sisters really loved this stuff. What always intrigued me was how they came up with singles. The famous songs came from hit numbers in the movies. The best thing about the songs was that the singers remained relatively unknown. Nobody knew who sang the song, but knew who danced on screen to them. Isn't that a bit backwards? The people who can't sing a note were more famous for the song than those who sang them. Part of the reason for this was that the singers were generally old and or unattractive. If that wasn't bad enough, the actors would also end up "performing" the songs in concerts!
Now I assume this has changed somewhat by now, but there's still something fishy going on. If, on PTV, you ever see a singer performing at a concert, they are never, never, actually singing. The art of lip synching has yet to be perfected over there. On problem is that they've not figured out that it'd be a good idea to record a different rendition of the song. Nope, they just play the studio version over the speakers. Noone sounds like that in reality. If that wasn't enough, the performers will regularly talk into their live mics to pump up the crowd. There's two issues there. First, they sound nothing like whomever is singing. More importantly though, they'll talk into the mic while they're supposed to be singing! Totally ruining the effect.
Okay, anyway on to the TARP

Week 6 Thoughts I Think I Thought About Thinking
1.) The Jets have forgotten that Mark Sanchez is a rookie QB. The key to winning with a rookie QB is to play good defense, run the ball, and be solid on special teams. The Jets can do all three. They need to ask Sanchez to manage the games, not win them. He may be able to carry the team somewhere down the line, but not now. He's a rookie. Give the Roethlisberegr/Flacco treatment.
2.) Down 45-0 nothing coming out of halftime, the Titans sent Collins in. Why? Did they think he had a shot to bring them back? It wasn't until 59-0 that they brought in Young. Why then? If you were going to bring Young in anyway, why not to start the second half? Moreover, if Young wasn't playable down 45-0 then he shouldn't be playable at 59-0. Make a stand on Young. Is he the QB of the future or not? If not, send him to Cleveland for Quinn. That way, both teams could take a crack at fixing QBs the other one grossly mismanaged.
3.) Joe Flacco was really impressive in the Ravens loss to the Vikings. Kept bringing them back in the fourth quarter. It was unfortunate though that they lost on a missed 44 yarder.
4.) Always fun to see a Bills kicker miss a field goal at the end of regulation wide right.
5.) I realize the Giants defense isn't a good as it played in the first five weeks, but it can't be as bad as it played on Sunday, can it? The commentators kept mentioning how they were banged up on defense. While that's true, there biggest losses on defense so far are DBs. The DBs weren't the most worrying part of the defense, Drew Brees had all day to throw. If the Giants can't get pressure with sending four or five, they're in some trouble.
6.) The Eagles ran the ball 14 times. In a close game. That they lost. To the Raiders.
7.) Dan Snyder is doing everything he can to get Jim Zorn to resign. Apparently they've a lot of money locked up on him and firing him will make them pay. SO they continue to humiliate him by giving more and more power to Sherm Lewis. It'll be interesting to see if Zorn cracks.
8.) The Rams will not go 0-16. I promise. I know I said that last year about the Lions, but it can't happen in back to back years!
9.) With all the bad quarterbacking going on, how is Jeff Garcia still available? Why wouldn't the Rams sign him? On top of that, how is David Carr a backup for the Giants? He could be starting for a handful of teams right now.
10.) LDT showing signs of life. Who knew? I was getting ready to cut him in my fantasy league. I guess I'll hold off on that.
